Welcome, mutant.

FINIS MUSICAE IS A FUTURIST ART AND TRANSHUMAN TECH COLLECTIVE PILOTING A ROBOTIC EXO-ORCHESTRA USING BIO SIGNALS.

The Exo-Orchestra uses brain-to-computer-interfaces, industrial robotics and machine learning to explore transhuman techniques and express new genres of sonic and visual arts.

The performance art and scientific research project expands human potential through mechanical and phygital transhumanism, explores experimental composition in new genres, and is living proof for an anti-dystopic vision of tech:

Using biosignals, FINIS MUSICAE’s technology bridges the gap between idea and actuation, opening up the medium of physical expression through robotic avatars.

Brought to life by an international team of tech artists, FINIS MUSICAE expands the borders of robotics, musical artistry and ultimately humanity. Fusing converging technologies, the project aims to usher in the automata age, anthropocentralized.

After 2 years of prototyping and research, Finis Musicae are featured in Wired , MusicTech, and Billboard. Finis Musicae have performed at a nuclear fusion facility (regarded by TED as “the best show they had ever seen”), have supported Anyma performing at The Sphere, have created a permanent interactive installation with Mercer Labs, are to be featured in an Arte TV documentary, and have performed for tech and political leaders such as Barack Obama

Rapidly advancing, novel exciting inventions and collaborations loom on the horizon, including performing in space and utilizing brain implants to allow paralyzed musicians to play instruments through robotic avatars

Written by Finis Musicae collaborator and ‘Father of VR’ Jaron Lanier, this exclusive feature in Wired Magazine unveils Finis Musicae’s premiere show at Fuse fusion energy facilities in San Leandro.

Deploying both FM’s cello and piano rigs, this private concert featured pianist Serene and Jaron Lanier as human musicians alongside the fluxus robotics and fusion capacitor arrays.. Equipped with custom biometric rigs, their electromyographic and electroencephalographic data drove live visuals to complement the carefully art directed stage that saw both artists and government defense personnel as attendees at a musically timeless event.
